Spreading the mission

This issue of Celebration describes how the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill strive to live the directives of the 2019 General Chapter statement. The theme of the chapter was “moving beyond frontiers” to witness charity and justice in our wounded world.

The Pennsylvania Historical Marker

The Pennsylvania Historical Marker was dedicated on August 29, 2021, honoring the service of the Sisters of Charity. The community initiated groundbreaking educational, healthcare, and social service programs by serving an impressive network of schools and hospitals in 12 states. It created an international congregation when expanding to South Korea in 1960. The Sisters founded Seton Hill College, now University, in 1918.
