Spring 2022 Service Learning Design Projects

AR490 Branding is a course at Seton Hill University with an emphasis on CST where graphic design majors take on a service-learning project. My students took on two projects, and the first was the design and layout of the Lenten Booklet for Campus Ministry. This booklet is called Sacred Moments & You, which contains daily reflections for the season of Lent written by SHU students, faculty, and staff.

The other service-learning project was to create promotional posters for the SHU School of Visual & Performing Art. Dean Kellee Van Aken met with the students to give them real-world experience working with a client. Students created many dynamic, appropriate poster designs which served the client‘s needs.

Visit to Blue Sky Sign

Graphic and Interactive Design students in the Branding class are working with Greensburg Community Development Corporation on a service-learning project designing signs for the Walk Greensburg Project.

They went to Blue Sky Sign Company in Greensburg to look at material samples. SHU graphic design alum Amanda Wolfe spoke with the group. SHU graphic design alum Taryn Six joins in the photo.
